Earlier this week, MFD was featured in The Las Vegas Review Journal for our work at the LaBella residence back in June 2021. This project was so much fun and we wanted to show you more of our design process for this custom home located in The Ridges. Come along as we dive deeper into this luxurious home that features Italian furniture, colorful lighting, and dynamic decor.

Can you believe this 4,619-square-foot project all started with a painting?! That's right...we began our design process by drawing inspiration from this exact painting. Known as "The Peacock Sisters," this stunning creation by Spanish artist, Joselu Montojo, is what catapulted the design for the rest of the home. We decided to use green as the main color palette of the home, along with hints of gold, yellow and peach. It may sound strange, but in the end, it all looked cohesive and elegant for our clients who moved from Madrid, Spain into this Las Vegas residence in just 6 weeks.

Drawing from Montojo's art, we decided to make the 22-foot ceilings in the main living area the focal point for the entire space. We opted for cork wallpaper which is unusual, yet dramatic and it makes for a great conversation piece when guests walk through the front door. The open concept living and dining space is colorful and fun, but balanced with neutral flooring as well as neutral white walls. The sliding glass doors were lined with custom drapery to tie in the newly upholstered barstools and the light fixtures are all contemporary in order to keep the eye drawn to the green cork wallpaper.

In order to tie in the green palette of the home, we opted for this all white home bar with touches of green in the surrounding artwork as well an entryway planters. Our clients needed more seating in the main living and dining area so a home bar with comfortable, plush barstools is just what they needed! Tucked behind the bar is a den and game room, complimented by emerald green Natuzzi seating, which is one of our favorite Italian brands.

The 5 pendant light fixtures were the perfect touch to this kitchen. They bring a fun and inviting feel into the space, complimented by the espresso cabinetry & the waterfall quartz countertops. The hints of yellow, peach, and gold can be found everywhere you look in this home and it's all thanks to the Montojo painting that brought us so much inspiration for this Vegas home.

The bold color palette of the home didn't stop in the primary suite. We opted for vibrant pillows, white floor to ceiling drapery, and dynamic decor. The balcony overlooks the sprawling backyard complete with a pool, spa, outdoor kitchen with a pizza oven, and a covered patio with plenty of seating for friends and family.

We are so happy we took the bold, daring and colorful route when designing this home in The Ridges. Our clients now have a home that is inviting and perfect for every occasion, which makes us love our job even more!
