Behind the Design: Project McDaniels
This luxurious home, located behind the gates of Anthem Country Club in Las Vegas, NV, gets a break down of our design process for Coach Josh McDaniels of the Las Vegas Raiders and his family. Contemporary pieces matched with traditional elements brought sophistication and comfort to this expansive home. Join us as we explain how and why we chose certain design elements for this MFD project.
Blue Bell Velvet
The focal point of this room is the floor to ceiling custom fireplace, which meant the furniture had to be simplistic and not too bright in order to keep the focus on the white marble statement piece. We chose blue velvet for the upholstered chairs as well as matching throw pillows to tie in the coastal blues that flow throughout the home and to bring a sophisticated and elegant feel to the space. These Crate & Barrel chairs also allowed for two large sofas to be placed in the room and allowed for more seating in this formal living room.
Coffee Tables & More
At MFD, we love shopping at Uttermost for our clients, which made for an easy decision to use these side tables for this. You can enjoy morning coffee or sip wine with friends and these tables are so easy to clean and don't leave stains behind. Bring the kids into this space to enjoy and live in a clean-free environment with these stunning and modern side tables.
Throw Pillows
To match the blue velvet sitting chairs, we decided to tie in more blue velvet elements by adding throw pillows onto the adjacent sofas. This allowed the sofas to be a neutral color while not taking away from the grand marble fireplace. By keeping the throw pillows simplistic, this allows for the eye to be drawn not only to the fireplace, but up above to the custom ceiling treatment that was designed by our team.
A Phillip Jeffries Love Story
We are always drawn to the stunning Phillip Jeffries wallpaper collection, which is why we loved using this grey and white wallpaper as the backdrop to this formal living space. This accent wall definitely needed a revamp, but we also didn't want to take away from the fireplace, so we continued with the neutral tones in order to not overpower the space. This elegant wall is now a statement piece but also helps to tie in the room.
