Fall is upon us and we are reminiscing about our 2020 Coeur d'Alene, Idaho project. It's warm, cozy, and has all the elements of a great vacation home. We loved designing this custom home located in Gozzer Ranch for our Vegas clients who wanted to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Come along as we get re-inspired for the Fall as we explore the design of this MFD custom look.
The entirety of this Idaho home was based on its surrounding environment. Gozzer Ranch sits on a private golf course and has wonderful walking trails, activities, and outdoor adventures. We wanted to bring the naturalistic feel of the outside into this home, which is why we opted for a more moody color palette filled with browns, tans, and neutral tones. This is one of our favorite kitchens because of its unique style and we'll definitely be recommending these smoky cabinets to future clients for the Fall.
We love a good exposed beam overhead and this home definitely feels more cohesive and cozy thanks to the dark wood. The staircase is sleek with a mix of metals and wood materials while the walls were kept as a white, simple background. The fireplace was customized with stonework thanks to the MFD Team and now the family can enjoy holidays around the fire while the leaves change outside. Fall is about getting together with friends and family & enjoying the accomplishments of the year, so a focal point where everyone can sit, laugh, and talk is a must...especially in a vacation home in Gozzer Ranch.
Throughout the home, MFD had the opportunity of keeping views of the beautiful landscape open to all parts of the house, which is why we decided to frame the windows in the house with a dark trim so that the windows became sort of a frame for the nature outside. Enjoy a bath while watching deer roam by or sit in your living room and watch the birds soar. Fall is a great time to see the beauty of nature change and to see animals gathering food for winter, so why not enjoy that time of year from the comfort of your own home.
Our clients wanted their kids to feel at home when they came to their Coeur d'Alene vacation home, so we opted for cozy bunk beds. These make for great memories for kids and they create memories that they'll never forget! The kids can play all day in the mountains, go fishing, watch the leaves change, or make s'mores by the fire and they're able to come back to a room filled with toys, activities, and bunk beds to crash on.
