Welcome to the beautiful city of Amsterdam! A bustling place filled with delicious stroopwafels, colorful buildings, historic canals, and a multitude of museums and art. Come along as we show you some of our favorite stops in the capital of The Netherlands!

L'Entrecôte et les Dames

MFD/Travel

One of the best meals we had here in this gorgeous city! Tucked away, this restaurant serves some of the most delicious steak &frites one could have. The overall setting of the restaurant is fun and energetic and the waiters even offer complimentary wine samples for the night. We would most definitely travel back to Amsterdam just for this meal!

Canals & Shops

MFD/Travel

You can spend most days walking along the historic canals of Amsterdam and have plenty of shops, restaurants, and museums to run into. There are a multitude of canal boat tours for visitors but everything is accessible by bike, too! One of our favorite aspects of this trip was visiting The Anne Frank House as well as the original Dutch shops to grasp a moment of history and appreciation for this city. We visited in early March and all we needed was a light jacket to keep us warm in this vibrant city!

Stroopwafels & Apple Pie

MFD/Travel

One of the most famous, if not THE most famous place, for stroopwafels in Amsterdam is van Wonderen. These are definitely worth going back for and absolutely delicious! You can customize your very own stroopwafel with toppings and fillings and they will keep you full for an entire afternoon. Apple pie is also most famous in Amsterdam at a little shop called Winkel 43. These were delectable and fresh and we could've eaten a third slice if we could! Don't miss these two places on your next visit to Amsterdam.

Flower Markets & Museums

MFD/Travel

No matter where you go in Amsterdam, the flower markets in spring will be blooming everywhere! We couldn't walk more than a block without seeing fresh flowers for sale or displayed in the homes of the locals along the canals. The museums are great and accessible in Amsterdam and you can even reserve tickets for up to one year before going! We loved visiting The Moco Museum to see works by Banksy and other contemporary artists.

Whether you're taking a romantic stroll along the canals at night under twinkling lights, visiting The Theatre of Fish for some of the best seafood in the area, or finding amazing thrifted goods at some of the local shops...Amsterdam has something for everyone and we highly recommend making this beautiful city a top priority to visit!
