In April 2022, we traveled to South Africa to venture out on a week long safari that was breathtaking and a once in a lifetime experience. We wanted to share our travels with all of you to bring insight into this magical place that boasts 5-star restaurants, exquisite suites, and personal safari tour guides. Welcome to Shamwari!

With daily excursions out into the Shamwari Private Game Reserve, we had the incredible opportunity to see wildlife up close that is only to be seen in South Africa. Wildlife such as elephants and lions roamed the entire reserve freely and safely and we had the chance to walk alongside them. The incredible resort offered private tours with experienced tour guides who taught us all about the magnificent beauty of Shamwari and we loved how every day there was something new and exciting to see on our tours. The tours come with warm personalized hotel blankets as well as champagne and treats to toast to this stunning place!

We enjoyed every morning waking up to the natural surroundings of the Shamwari Reserve and the 5-star gourmet restaurants were absolutely delightful! The staff could not have been nicer and you could tell every worker truly enjoyed their jobs. Our rooms had amazing outdoor showers, a cozy living space, as well as a soaking tub in the connecting bathroom. We felt so grateful to have such beautiful rooms to come back to every day after spending our mornings and afternoons amongst the wildlife!

We have nothing but rave reviews for Shamwari and the first thing we thought was "We have to bring the kids next time!" This beautiful reservation is perfect for families as well as couples for its naturalistic beauty, activities, and relaxing feel. Our children are grown but we would love for them to either experience Shamwari with their significant others or go on this safari adventure with their mom & dad! Either way... this place is Heaven on Earth and we would go back in a heartbeat!

Complete with a continental breakfast every morning, night caps around the fire, and plenty of stories to bring home...Shamwari will forever be a special place to us and we hope everyone gets a chance to marvel at the beauty of this natural preserve!
