Travel With Us: Tuscany, Italy
Over the Summer of 2022, we had the opportunity to jet set to Tuscany Italy to explore the beautiful countryside while wining & dining in this rich culture. We spent the days taking in the beautiful history of Italy while visiting various museums and monuments. Come with us as we take you on our favorite wine tour as well as museum in the heart of Tuscany!
Chianti By The Hillside
Our favorite wine tour during our stay in Tuscany departed from Piazzale Montelungo near the Santa Maria Novella Train Station located in Florence, Italy where we were then chartered to the pristine countryside of this beautiful area. We were provided with various cheeses, meats, and other snacks during our time while we sipped and tasted various Chianti wines from two different locations. One was located inside a cave underneath a 500 year old city and the other was perched atop a cliffside on the owner's sprawling property. We were so fortunate to take in these amazing views while listening about the iconic wine history of Italy.
Cathedrals & Hidden Gems
While on our wine tour, we had the opportunity to explore the local areas which was so much fun! We were able to stumble upon some of the most beautiful cathedrals, hidden viewpoints, artisanal shops, and more. We even got to stop by the front gates of the home where the iconic film "Gladiator" was filmed starring Russell Crowe! It was a great surprise for all of us on the tour and an added perk for all us movie lovers!
Salvatore Ferragamo
Located in the bustling city of Florence, Italy, the Salvatore Ferragamo Museum was one of our favorite stops in this historic city of Tuscany. We learned so much history of this iconic designer and the giant effect the clothes, shoes, and more have had on individuals and generations since 1927. Exquisitely curated, this museum displays amazing pieces designed by Ferragamo over the years such as the iconic white shoes worn by Marilyn Monroe, some of the brand's original dress designs, and Vogue issues featuring the early years of the company. We would highly recommend visiting this unique experience!
If you ever find yourself in the rolling countryside of Tuscany, then be sure to add these activities to your itinerary! We can't wait to go back one day and to revisit these wonderful memories.
